Spread the love

KEEPING YOUR CARPET CLEAN YEAR ROUND IS UP TO YOU.

Would you be shocked if I told you that the biggest factor in how long your carpet lasts and how good it looks has a lot more to do with what you do between professional cleaning services than what the professional does?

Yes, Cleanworks offers fast, efficient carpet and fabric cleaning for businesses and other large organisations the professionals cleaners can remove maximum soil, make stains disappear like magic (sometimes), and leave a nice fresh scent in your home.  However, the professional cleaner cannot reverse fiber damage.  The damage can be at the base of the fiber causing the fiber to lay  a little different (like permanent bed head), or it can be fraying at the tip of the fiber, either way it will shadow and reflect light differently than the undamaged fiber.

In this post I want to go over 5 steps that YOU CAN DO between cleanings that will drastically reduce the wear in your carpet and two steps you can work with a green carpet cleaning nyc service on.  These will improve the appearance and extend the life of your carpet, SAVING YOU MONEY, and of course, we will also recommend you the best professionals to work with from spotlessflorida dot com in case you need some assistance. Furthermore, if you need help from an expert, you can contact carpet cleaning Glendale AZ to help you remove all the dirt in your carpet. If you have a unique carpet cleaning situation, don’t hesitate and quickly call Dan Dan The Carpet Man.

THE 7 STEPS TO KEEPING YOU CARPET CLEAN YEAR AROUND

sevenSTEP 1:  Use Walk Off Mats At All Entry Points:  The first line of defense starts at your door.  It just stands to reason that if you can keep the soil from entering your house, it won’t get into your carpets.   The best way to do that is a quality walk off mat at every entryway.  Most houses have one at their front door, but forget about the backdoor or the garage.

Preferably you want a to take at least 3 steps on the mat before entering the house.

STEP 2:   Change Your Air Filters Regularly:  Take at look at your ceiling fan.  Do they have a large amount of dirt and grime on them?

Do you find yourself dusting often, only to have the dust back the next day?

If you answered yes, it has to do with particles in the air being circulated as your AC / Heater.  Changing your filters will not only save you money on your electric and extend the life of your A/C unit, but it will also help reduce the amount of dust that gets circulated.   This will help keep everything including your carpet cleaner.

STEP 3:  Don’t Go Barefoot:  I know a lot of people, including my wife and kids, prefer to walk around barefoot.  Your carpets will get dirtier faster if you do.

Here is why, you skin has natural oils in it that will get absorbed as you walk barefoot on the carpet.  These oils become a sticky residue in your carpet fiber that soil will stick to, making your vacuuming less effective.

If you use lotion on your feet this effect is magnified greatly.

STEP 4:  Vacuum SLOWER With A Good Vacuum:  For the soil that does get into your home, you want to get rid of it as soon as possible before it damage you carpet.

The soil we have in Arizona is like little piece of sandpaper.  Your carpet works like a giant filter and it pulls soil down to the base of the fiber.  As the soil amount increases it works it way up the fiber to the surface.

Ask you see dirt on your carpet or on your tile first.  Your tile right!  That is because it sits on the surface on the tile, but on the carpet it work to the base of the fiber where it will sit there and sand you fiber with every step you take.

To battle this you must have a good vacuum or get a vacuum cleaning service come and do the work.  If your vacuum is old enough to hit puberty you should of replaced it awhile ago.  I like Riccar, a great American made vacuum cleaner. Appliance Hunter uses an appliance and posts his honest reviews.

Next, you must vacuum slower. While many people focus solely on removing surface debris from the carpet and rush through the process to achieve that end, it’s important to note that your goal should be to eliminate the soil that has filtered down to the base of the fiber. So take your time to ensure a thorough cleaning, remember, The Dyson sv06 battery works with all V6 model vacuums.

STEP 5:  Use Proper Spotting Techniques:  I have watched some of the videos on youtube telling you how to remove spots and I absolutely cringe.  They are trying to be helpful, but have no clue that the advice they are giving will eventually make the stain worse, make the stain permanent or damage the fiber.

STEP 6:  Have A Carpet Protector Applied:  Most new carpet comes with a carpet protector build into the fabric, but that protector will be removed through normal wear and tear on the carpet.  How quickly depends on how much traffic you carpet has.

If you have a new carpet that is still under warranty it probably has a requirement on how often you have to professionally clean your carpet and if it requires having a protector reapplied to keep it under warranty.

STEP 7:  Get On A Maintenance Program With Your Professional Cleaner:  Most good professional cleaners have different cleaning packages based on the level of soil.  With Integrity Cleaning Systems I have a maintenance cleaning package that is about 50% less then my normal cleaning package.

We can set you up on a customized maintenance cleaning package based on your level of foot traffic that will help keep you looking clean all the time at a cost savings.  Please feel free to check out my cleaning packages here.

Have A Great and Clean Day,
